It's Open Enrollment Time
While there are very few changes in the medical and dental plans, one thing that is NOT changing is the costs our employees will pay. Even though we are experiencing a 9.1% increase as an organization in our medical plans, Texas Baptists is absorbing the entire increase and your 2020 premiums will remain in effect for the 2021 plan year. In a world where health care premium costs continue to soar, it is great news that ours will be the same in the coming year.
Medical Plan Changes Effective 01/01/2021
ID Cards - You will receive new ID cards for 2021
Some diagnostic tests (like MRI's for an example) performed outside of an in-patient setting will require a precertification process.
What to do to prepare for Open Enrollment?
This is a great time to check your benefits and confirm what you have now. You can do this via our new Paycom Benefit Module. You should have received an email from firstname.lastname@example.org that provides direction on training to complete that will prepare you to complete your Open Enrollment process through our newly implemented Paycom Benefit Module. The email will state: Action Required - Employee Self Serve. You'll then log into Paycom Employee Self-service and go to "Checklist" and then click on the assigned checklist to complete the assigned training.
Completing Your Open Enrollment for 2021
You will find the new Paycom Benefit Module very easy to navigate to make your 2021 benefit selections. After all, you are already familiar with using the Paycom system and the benefit module is a natural extension of the functionality that you are already using.
Even if you don't plan on making any changes in your benefit selections for 2021, we are requiring everyone to complete the Open Enrollment Process via the Paycom Module as a means to both verify your current coverage and ensure that your selections for 2021 are just as you intend them to be for you and your family.
Also, please remember - if you contribute to either the Flex Plan (FSA) or Health Savings Plan (HSA) you will need to make an active selection in the amount you want to contribute for 2021. Neither plan will allow you to simply keep the amount you selected for 2020 in force for 2021 - so please take care to designate a contribution amount for 2021!
10/20/20: HR has had some questions about the medical election part of the benefits module. You must do the following to be able to see and elect the medical coverage you want: click the box next to the question asking if your spouse has medical coverage, select yes or no (select no even if you are not married) and then click enroll. The next screen will give you our two medical plans, Health Choice 3000 and Health Saver 2800. Please email or call HR (contact info listed at bottom of this page) if you're still having issues and they'll walk you through it.
Open Enrollment Meetings
Zoom meetings are scheduled for you to learn helpful information and answer any questions you may have. If you plan to attend one of these sessions, please look for an email with the Zoom Meeting link. During the session(s), we will provide an overview of our health and welfare benefit offerings, talk a bit about some valuable additional benefits offered through our plan, and discuss the Open Enrollment process using Paycom as our enrollment tool.

Open Enrollment Deadline
You need to complete your Open Enrollment process (whether or not you are making any changes for 2021) via Paycom in the Benefit Module by 5:00 pm on November 5, 2020. If you are NOT making any changes to your 2021 benefit elections, you will still need to confirm what you have by completing enrollment in Paycom by November 5, 2020.
This year you will need to submit your FSA and HSA elections online at www.ebcflex.com by November 5, 2020. Again, please remember that you must designate an amount for 2021. 2020's amount that you designated will not automatically continue in 2021. If you don't make an active 2021 designation, you will not be contributing to the FSA or HSA in 2021.
Early Enrollment Prizes - Be Early for a Chance to Win!
If you submit your benefit elections early by 5:00 pm on Monday, November 2, 2020, your name will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of two $50.00 gift card prizes.
Eligibility for Benefits
All Regular Full-Time employees working at least 40 hours in a work week are eligible for benefits based upon eligibility requirements of each plan.
All Regular Part-Time employees working 20 to 39.9 hours in a work week are eligible for the pro-rated paid time off (PTO) benefit employment and other benefits based on eligibility requirements of each plan.
Temporary employees are not eligible for benefits other than those offered under the BGCT Workers’ Compensation Insurance coverage.
Occasional employees are not eligible for benefits other than those benefits offered under the BGCT Workers’ Compensation Insurance coverage.
All employees working more than 1,000 hours per year are eligible to participate in the BGCT retirement benefit plan.

Marriage: if you get married, you need to notify HR (214-828-5327 or email@example.com). You have 30 days from the day you get married to make any insurance changes.
Dependents: if there is a change in your dependents, you must notify HR (214-828-5327 or firstname.lastname@example.org) if:
You have a new baby. The HR department needs to be notified about new babies immediately (the day they are born) so they can be added to your policy.
One of your dependents graduates or is no longer a full-time student. (Dependents ages 19-25 are eligible for coverage as long as they are enrolled as a full-time student. Dependents 19-25 who choose not to go to college, are not a full-time student, or are college graduates are no longer eligible for coverage.)
